National Museum of Scotland asks public for memories of famous Scottish designer

The National Museum of Scotland is calling for memories of famous artist and designer Bernat Klein ahead of a major exhibition of his work opening next month. Klein (1922 - 2014) was born in Yugoslavia (now Serbia) but settled in the Scottish Borders where he lived and worked for over 40 years.

Doctor Who Worlds of Wonder: Science exhibition lands in Edinburgh

Anatomy: A Matter of Death and Life

A major new exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland looks at the history of anatomical study, from artistic explorations by Leonardo da Vinci to the Burke and Hare murders.

National Museums Scotland reveals contemporary whisky collection

National Museums Scotland has revealed a new collection exploring contemporary Scottish whisky. Announced to coincide with World Whisky Day on 21 May 2022, a selection of bottled whiskies, packaging and related material have been acquired to reflect the thriving industry in the 21st century.

Rare French silver casket believed to have belonged to Mary, Queen of Scots is acquired for the nation

A silver casket believed to have been owned by Mary, Queen of Scots has been acquired for the nation. An iconic piece of Scotland’s national heritage, it goes on display at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh from Thursday 19 May.
